SYD SKIDMORE

actor & writer
ABOUT
HELLO MY NAME IS SYD (she/they)
I have been acting since the age of 7. Growing up, I was the quintessential musical theatre kid: performing the entirety of Les Miserables in my grandmother's living room, my 12 cousins and I passionately reenacting the lives of 1700's French whores to an audience of aunts and uncles. I, of course, was double-cast as Whore #3 and the male love interest, Marius (the beginning of my nonbinary awakening!).
I went on to receive my BFA in Acting from USC, and am currently based in Los Angeles. I work mainly in film & TV, but can sometimes be found making a fool of myself onstage in the local clown scene. You may know me as the sci-fi soldier, Bradbury, facing her death in THE CREATOR, or the criminally insane Batman villain, Abby, who attacks Sofia in THE PENGUIN (see review below).
My acting technique is rooted in both emotional memory and imaginative play. I excel in transformation, in part because coming to terms with my queerness required an in depth exploration into the many different parts of myself. I now feel the freedom to dance between them, and aim to delve even deeper into my humanity with each new role!
Beyond acting, I am currently developing my first feature film with my writing partner and our weekly acting group. Keep an eye out for FEAST, a friendsgiving gone wrong...

"Syd Skidmore's Abby is a revelation."
SCREEN RANT The Penguin Episode 4 Review
"The real stand-out is Syd Skidmore's Abby, the Arkham inmate who plays a key part in Sofia's... awakening, let's say. Skidmore is very much a newcomer, with few roles to her name, but is incredible as Abby: equal parts terrifying and haunting... I can't get the performance out of my head."
